The Blockchain Train Series held at Persoft Tower, has been a true eye-opener of how the beauty of blockchain technology could impact on sustainability, security and creativity. Organized by Upnamics, the conference gathered the blockchain experts, media company, IT students from UITM, developers, and many more.
Dean McClelland, CEO of Product Evangelist and DJ Lethal Skillz from Emanate South East Asia and Middle East regions Rep were the panellists of the conference.
While describing blockchain as the new technology of trust, Dean McClelland highlighted blockchain’s impact on sustainability and security, in which he introduced TontineTrust; Making Retirement Better for Everyone.
TontineTrust, an innovative project for pensioners with its mission to build a bankruptcy proof, low-cost, global savings and pensions platform. Its lifetime income product, Tontine Pensions provide safe lifetime incomes which can be expected to rise over time at a very low cost for members.
As the current insurance solution is complex and expensive, Tontine Pensions comes to the rescue. Dean clarified that it is like a mutual society where profits go to the pensioners rather than to shareholders of an insurance company.
Next session was a discussion on how can blockchain benefits for the Creative Industry. DJ Lethal Skillz as the panellist, introduced Emanate, a new music platform making payments faster and fairer for artists, labels and pretty much everyone in the industry.
Emanate brings creators and music lovers together with global collaborations and payments in real-time. it is an audio exchange protocol designed to enable producers, distributors and influencers in the music industry ecosystem to connect via blockchain-based smart-contracts.
