“Anadysis” by Meddus — Reviewed
EP “Anadysis” pre-release exclusive to emanate!
Producer, Meddus, expresses to be stirring beneath the waves with a journey about to begin. With having already developed a following for their remixes and collaborations, it would be my prediction that they will be making massive new waves in the electronic music universe with their debut EP “Anadysis” released March 4th exclusively on emanate!
This 5 track EP takes you on an alluring and intense odyssey. Once you dive in, you are completely absorbed by what is nothing less than an epic introduction to what Meddus truly has in store for this journey. “Anadysis” absolutely captivates you with beautiful melodies followed by a very powerful build-up and finishing with a dreamy piano outro, setting us up for much more to come.
While “Currents” does not stray far from the beautifully intense atmosphere that was set with “Anadysis”, it builds into a more high-energy glitch-hop style beat with alluringly eerie vocals that leave with a feeling of mystery and an eagerness to keep listening.
Enamored by this captivating new sound, we then come to “Shinjuku”, which has already seen an immense amount of love since its’ release on February 3rd this year. Definitely amping up the tempo, this euphoric track carries futuristic energy that takes you on a hyperactive and fun experience. Meddus continues to shock us with their talent with this track’s bouncy bassline and angelic vocals.
Sitting on the edge of our seats with excitement and anticipation, it’s no surprise “Parallel” comes in HOT, opening with engines revving and an 8-bit style to get us moving. Once we’ve got our groove on, this track makes a soothingly seamless transition into a cozy and comforting finish.
Bringing this remarkable debut to its close, “Dohrnii (Immortal)” is the perfect finale to the extraordinary body of art Meddus has so remarkably presented to us. Continuing with their analog-driven sound and dark yet beautiful vocals, we end this journey feeling simultaneously invigorated and serene.
“Anadysis” is no doubt a legendary beginning of monumental things to come from Meddus. We look forward to watching as their unique sound extends further across the globe and continues to wow us with more!
