Emanate brings Black Book Records boss Chris Lake to host an exclusive remix competition using unique “Smart Collaboration” technology
Emanate’s next official remix comp gives artists a shot to be a part of Chris Lake’s legendary Black Book Records
Chris Lake today announced a remix competition exclusively in partnership with ground-breaking music collaboration, sharing and distribution platform Emanate.live.
Black Book Records founder, Chris Lake, has been behind the scenes of Emanate since 2019. Now, he is joining forces as a partner to host a remix competition showcasing the platform’s new remix feature using “Smart Collaboration” technology.
Lake is celebrating the third birthday of his club smash Turn off the Lights (feat. Alexis Roberts) by giving everyone a shot to remix the record and win a variety of superb prizes from Black Book Records, Slate Digital and audio hardware Subpac.
Showcasing Emanate’s unique “Smart Collaboration” technology
Emanate is a blockchain-based music platform that unites artists, labels, and fans to earn, share and collaborate. Artists and independent labels can conveniently publish, distribute & monetize music from one destination.
Emanate lets artists work together over ‘smart collaborations’ allowing a framework where the consenting parties agree to the terms of the collaboration before it is ‘published’ and the payment splits are executed through code, in real-time. If the music is published on Emanate, the payments automatically go to the right people, without question or doubt every time.

After the remix competition, the Emanate platform will enable every ‘Pro Connect’ artist to spin up their own remix offerings. The artists will decide on what percentage terms the payment will be split. The remixer will submit their new track to the original artist via Emanate, who will have the option to accept, deny, or allow the remix, with no connection to your profile with monetization switched on.

The top remixes will be reviewed by Black Book Records for inclusion in an official remix pack on Lake’s legendary Black Book Records across digital stores. A mentor Q&A with Chris Lake, Black Book Records merch pack, and Emanate has teamed up with leading plugin company Slate Digital to offer an all-access 1-year subscription. We will have two runner ups who will be able to claim Black Book merch packs and ‘Pro-Connect’ subscriptions on Emanate.
There will also be a separate promotional competition for the Chris Lake fans sponsored by tactile audio hardware company Subpac.
