ATTLAS remix competition — Winners revealed!
THAT'S A WRAP!
Wow, yep… confirmed. Our BIGGEST remix competition yet! Back in May, we collaborated with ATTLAS for his debut album “Lavender God” all thanks to deadmau5‘s legendary imprint mau5trap!
An overwhelming response to the competition saw a sea of quality productions float into the mix. ATTLAS went that extra mile by deciding it would be best for him to personally hunt through the endless piles of submissions and hand-pick his favourites (what an amazing human).
The Emanate Electronic Collective Discord hosted a live announcement event with ATTLAS to reveal the winners and hang out for a bit of Q&A with the community which went down a treat!
We have confirmation from the mau5trap team that the top 4 winners will be released in a Half Light remix E.P set for release August 18!

First Place
Kade Spear is 19yrs old, South Africa. NeoPhoenix is 15yrs old, from New York. The two first met through an online music group. After a failed collaboration, the pair decided to work together on the "Half Light" remix. Sending track stems back and forth online over chat.Kade sent Neo the drop and verse. Then Neo jumped in and added atmosphere and movement to the track... They submitted the entry and here they are as winners!
LAMORN
Second Place
It all started with an early fascination with artists like Daft Punk and then led to an assortment of training, both self taught and from masterclasses like Deadmau5 and Mr. Bill.Arizona-based electronic music artist, Lamorn (Seth Person) displays a continuing hunger for mastering the craft of music production. A diverse music background has given him unique insight into the electronic music world.
LAMINAR
Third Place — Tied
UK-based Drum & Bass producer Kian Kasler is now known as Laminar. Classically trained on both piano and violin, Laminar still wanted more and when he discovered electronic music he instantly felt at home.
At 20 years old, his production skills show quality and maturity equal to those who’ve been in the game for years. His debut release Tessellate set a foundation of quality for his driving, melodic sound. He followed up with ‘In My Mind’ released last month, getting radio play on New Zealand’s George FM.
JULIAN GRAY
Third Place — Tied
Fusing together a rare blend progressive house, techno, and electro, Julian Gray carves out his own groundbreaking genre his fans have deemed as “progresso.” His one of a kind style of silly, playful, and melancholic music personally captured Deadmau5’s attention early in his career eventually leading to several releases with the artist’s esteemed mau5trap label. From an early age, Julian learned the fundamental elements of music theory that would pose the basic framework for his later work, further strengthened by 8 years of classical training through his childhood and adolescence. Growing up in a musical family around a wide variety of music genres including 80s new wave and electronica instilled a lasting sense of eclecticism still apparent in his productions today.
