Hey! Nice to meet you. Tell us about yourself, who is Long Lost?

I’m Melbourne born and bred, my twin sister and I lived in the heart of Fitzroy and Collingwood for a decade where we got to see many awesome local musicians performing at our favorite bars and pubs. I grew up listening to the music of the 90s, this continues to inspire and influence me today. I don’t stick to one genre, instead, I like creating a sound inspired by my favorite tunes, always with the intention of getting people in the mood to boogie.

So how long have you been producing music?

I’m Melbourne based producer and sound designer since 2016, creating evocative tunes inspired by 90’s dance and 80’s disco with modern soul house beats.

What sparked your interest in music initially?

When I was a kid my stepdad would download random programs and he installed Fruity loops on my computer so I started playing around with the different sounds. I enjoyed being able to freely make sounds that would mix into one track. I wasn’t a very good student and I found it hard to concentrate at school, but for some reason, I could sit at my computer for hours making sounds, I was a bit obsessed.

How would you describe your sound to someone?

Being an identical twin, I liken my music to what is known as the Twins Paradox, an experiment in physics involving one twin travelling through space and time, and remaining ageless. Comparatively, my music delves into a modern interpretation of timeless 90s classic sounds as if traveling through musical space and time.

Is there a particular message you want to convey in your music?

I want people to be inspired to dance and feel free to let go of inhibition and be themselves.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration through music I’ve been listening to throughout the year, both old and new. I also take one day out of the week to learn a new skill or technique on Abelton which always sparks an idea.

Are you working on anything at the moment that you’re excited about?

I’ve got a few things in the mix, right now I’m trying to find a local vocalist to either add to some tracks or inspire some new ones.

What are your goals for 2022?

I would like to collaborate with more local artists. And I’d like to delve more into the live music scene.

Are there any places you really want to play at?

I haven’t really thought of a place to play as I have bad anxiety when it comes to playing live. I know that’s my biggest battle but once I do start playing live I know I will enjoy it and be eager to play anywhere really.

Are there any artists you’d love to collaborate with?

I am inspired by so many different artists and genres but if I had to name one I would say I really dig Vera Blues vibe.

How did you hear about emanate?

I’m big into crypto and love supporting any coin that helps artists, I did my research and found you guys.

What advice would you give to artists that are just getting started?

Just not to get caught up in how many plays you get or how much publicity your track gets. Try not to take any advice that puts your music down and isn’t constructive criticism. People will always have their own opinions about your music and how you should change it. I think that kind of advice can sometimes kill your creativity and uniqueness. The music iconic music has always been where the artist wasn’t afraid to be themselves.
