From Day 1, our goal at Embed has been to build a modern financial markets clearing and custody infrastructure company from the ground up.

Building from scratch was a necessity in order to compete with legacy players who take the opposite approach — wrap decades-old software running on mainframe computers and package it up as if it’s new and innovative.

For Embed, it was important that our platform architecture allowed maximum flexibility to ensure we could execute on our vision, and push the industry forward across multiple asset classes.

We wanted to provide the best product, not just the best software, so we had to be the clearing and custody FINRA and DTC/NSCC member as well. Vertical integration is key to our strategy.

Since early 2022, we have been successfully powering several RIAs and broker-dealers, including FTX US Stocks, with a full-stack API-driven execution, clearing, settlement and custody solution.

However, we always knew US listed equities would be just the start, and we would need to go beyond equities into more asset classes.

Today, I’m happy to announce that Embed Clearing LLC has become an official member (Firm #623) of The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization, enabling Embed to offer US equity and index options products to our clients and their customers. Initially, we will offer level 1 and 2 options capabilities, starting with level 2.

The OCC is an exclusive club. Only 185 members in total, which includes some firms who have multiple memberships.

It’s taken us over 2 years to get to this point and we’re thrilled to be able to now vertically integrate options into our existing US listed equities infrastructure stack.
