As per the FDA, it is derived from the analysis of data from electronic health records (EHRs), claims, product & disease registries and patient-generated data, including smart devices. It helps to test the safety & efficacy of drugs after the intial clinical trials themselves conducted in more controlled environments.

- Embleema has signed its second official partnership with Servier Pharmaceuticals this december. A leading pharma with drugs for heart diseases, central nervous system ailments and oncology, it will take part in building Embleema’s decentralized Blockchain Network, hosting nodes to store and share data securely, and mining to guarantee the security of sensitive data.
- In Glascow , Robert Chu (CEO of Embleema) and Nicolas Schmidt participated in the Blockchain for Clinical Trials Forum invited by Maria Palombini from IEEE.
- With Jeanne Barnett, president of CysticFibrosis.com, they shared their experience on the joint pilot, validating how strongly patients support owning their data. Surveying 1200 patients and caregivers, it turns out 95% are willing to share data with research, and 68% if they are compensated.
- In Singapour, Alexis Normand attended the Blockshow conference to meet with blockchain investors, taking the temperature of local cryptomania.
