GEICO Mobile App Features That Everyone Can Use.

Over the past four years, GEICO — the second largest auto insurance agency in the US — has ranked highest overall on the Dynatrace Mobile Insurance Scorecard. The GEICO mobile app rated number one in all four categories, Functionality, Ease of Use, Privacy and Security, and Quality and Availability. According to Business Wire, “GEICO uses Dynatrace’s Scorecards for Financial Services to assess its competitive position, identify best practices in digital delivery, and to refine its roadmap planning to meet the needs of policyholders and prospects.”

GEICO isn’t just producing hilarious commercials to promote their home, auto, renters, and life insurance policies. They are also making use of popular AI encompassing functions such as Augmented Reality (AR for short).

AR made an explosive debut in 2016 when the popular Pokemon Go mobile game introduced AR to the masses. GEICO later adopted AR as part of their mobile app and is giving EVERYONE access. After reading a bit more about GEICO Explore, I decided to check the app out for myself. In doing so, I discovered several app functions that non-policyholders can use simply by downloading the app.

In addition to the features that are reserved for paying GEICO policyholders such as, roadside assistance, pay your bill, and ID card viewing. The app also includes a gas finder — which displays, station address, the distance for your current location, and real-time gas prices, local restaurants, nature parks, entertainment, and of course GEICO brick and mortar locations.

You can even “mark your car” — allowing you to see the location and distance you are from your vehicle. Blanked on where you parked in the grocery parking lot?! Have no fear, the GEICO app will point you in the right direction.

It’s easy to see why the app has been consistently ranked the best in the insurance space. It’s simple to use, convenient and provides an innovative user experience to policy and non-policyholders alike.
