If you are looking for a new place to go hang out and eat with friends, The Blind Tiger in Covington is the place to go.

Described as an island lifestyle restaurant, The Blind Tiger opened two weeks ago just off of Highway 190 and welcomes guests into a laid back open atmosphere where everyone feels like friends.

The restaurant is surrounded by sand to give the place a beach look. They keep the windows open all around to allow fresh air and breeze to blow through. When someone wants to enjoy the beach but does not have time, this is the perfect place to go.

Madison Rodrigue, a waitress at The Blind Tiger loves the atmosphere and said, “Everyday, it’s like you are at a beach somewhere, but at the same time I am so close to my house.”

Without regular menus, the food options are listed on colorful chalkboards on the walls on both sides. One menu lists the regular dishes that they offer on a daily basis. Another chalkboard lists the specials of the day.

Another waitress at the restaurant, Hannah Gibson mentioned, “We have so many different specials every day and they accommodate every guest as much as possible.”

One of the most important things about the restaurant that they want you to know is that all of their food is always fresh and they never freeze anything.

I personally ordered the loaded cheese fries as an appetizer. The fries are made fresh and then are topped with cheese, bacon and chives. They serve it with ranch on the side.

The loaded cheese fries were greasy and salty but in a good way. The ranch toned down the saltiness perfectly.

As a meal, I ordered the all American burger. Unlike most of the meals that they serve, this burger came with fries on the side.

Again, the fries were made fresh and so was the burger. The all American burger comes dressed with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, and has caramelized onions and a signature sauce on it.

The burger was cooked just right. It was very juicy and you can tell that it definitely is not a frozen burger. The sauce tasted like a mix of ketchup, mustard and mayo, so it was just a typical burger sauce. The onions gave the burger a juicy sweetness.

Employees at The Blind Tiger want to make sure that each and every customer has the best experience. That includes making sure that they know they are in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Waitress Lauren Long stated, “I know that I need to be the best sever I can be for the customers who sit at my tables, but I also need to be a team player with my coworkers so I am always helping out when someone needs it.”

The Blind Tiger did a great job in providing the great experience that they intended to. It really is a relaxed, beachy place with good food for everyone.
