I Want To Be Defined by the Things I Love
What about you?
My friend (and life coach) Terri shared a quote:
I want to be defined by the things that I love.
Growing up, I was frequently asked who Adventists were since that denomination is not very well known in Spain. I almost always answered with negatives, enumerating the things we didn’t do, like eating pork, dancing, going to church on Sundays and (gasp!) going to the movies.
What a waste.
If I were to talk to that child, I’d remind him that Adventists are Christians who love Jesus, as many others do. There are people with shortfalls but who know that Jesus understands them and cheers for them, giving them plenty of new opportunities.
Oh, and the Sunday question? We can answer with a very positive message: we enjoy spiritual stuff, family and friends free of distractions for 24 hours!
I, too, want to be defined by the things I love. I don’t want to be defined by my poor health but by my genuine smile.
What about you? What defines you?
