Why Do You Stay Christian?
There are lots of reasons to quit
Have you ever read a book that seems to read your mind? I am right now. The book is called “The Sin of Certainty” by Peter Enns.
Today, he asked:
“What are your one or two biggest obstacles to stay Christian? What are those roadblocks you keep running into? What are those issues that won’t go away and make you wonder why you keep on believing at all?”
Mine are:
- A violent God (flood, conquest of Canaan)
- Science (flat earth? Creation story)
- Silence (why he allows the suffering of the good people)
I’ve written in one way or the other about these lately, and I may go deeper into my thoughts. But I’m interested in your perspective. Would you share in the comments (or send me a private message)?
