Dear Embrace Supporters,

In our latest blog post we had announced our manufacturing timeline. We have a few cool updates on the progress that we would like to share:

  • New bands
  • Embrace production progress
  • Embrace beta testing — coming near you
  • Alert app

New bands

You can see the pod with the new stainless steel framing that lets you change bands according to your preference. You can have a band for your quickly growing kids, a tight fit band for small wrists, a large fit band for bigger wrists or a fashionable band for special occasions.

We are very happy for this decision, as it adds a lot of flexibility for you on how to use Embrace.

Embrace production progress

The past round of testing has been very intense: we have been checking the device response to hot and cold temperatures, waterproofing, sensitivity to different drops and also antenna range verification.

We have learned several things from the build that we are using for the third Engineering Build. You can see below where we are with the progress. Again, we will keep you updated on the progress in the next post.

In the picture above you can see a picture of the Embrace Bluetooth antenna range being tested in the anechoic chamber: this is a ‘no echo’ room, i.e. a special lab designed to minimize the reflection of signals on the walls. This process is very important to test the efficiency of the Bluetooth antenna, namely how far and how well signals are sent to a smartphone nearby.

Embrace Beta testing

We decided to have more Embrace units for beta testing with the current Engineering build. Initially we wanted to test mainly with our partner hospitals, but we are now looking to involve some of our supporters as well.

Starting next week, we will be contacting some of you, to see if you are willing to help us with the testing. Some requirements are that you live near Boston or Milan, and that you have active kids. So stay tuned, we’ll be writing to take part in this program!

Embrace Alert app

We know that you are all eagerly waiting for the preview of the Alert App we promised in our last blog post. We have finalized the app several weeks ago and submitted it for the approval to the Apple Store. Unfortunately the process took much longer than usual and we waited a lot for approval. We just got it today!

We will send you a separate message in the next days with all the details and how you can use it.
