My Collection of Relationship Articles: Motherhood, Marriage, Friendship, Self. . .
I will be the first to tell you I’m not good with relationships. I do have many relationships though, long lasting ones even, and from them I have learned about myself and how to love and care for others — even if I don’t always do what I know to be best.
I’m a wife, mother to ten, member of a close-knit church community, daughter, friend. I find relationships complicated and hard to be in with others due to my own mental health issues, personality, and life experience. But, I know we are made to be in relationships with others. We are made for communion with each other. So even though they are hard, I do my best to work at them when possible, even though my best is often not good enough.
Since we don’t exist apart from others and are interconnected in ways we cannot comprehend, I will keep trying to be good at relationships. I’ve also learned my relationship with myself impacts the ones I have with others. If I want to learn to love others — and I do — I must learn to love myself. I’ve included articles here on mental health and self for that reason.
As always, thank you for your interest in my work! ❤
