Physical Therapy is a very hands-on profession. Patients seek out the help of Physical Therapists to guide and assist their recovery process. Most of the of the work done at a PT office can only be accomplished through human to human interactions. On the other hand, one interaction in particular can be aided by computers.

Artificial Intelligence can change the way patients perform prescribed home exercises. Through the camera on the patient’s phone, they can video tape and immediately receive feedback as to whether or not they performed the exercise correctly. Additionally, the can receive coaching cues on how to adjust the movement for better technique. It’s as if you sent one of your assistants to the patient’s home for a personal session.

In an industry that is always taking care of other people, it’s now time to let technology take care of the PT.
