Gender Transition is “Unnatural,” They Say…

And I say, what of it?

Some people get really hung up on “it’s not natural!”

Resurrection, walking on water? Not very natural.

Airplanes are not natural. Cancer treatments are unnatural AF. IVF? Not natural. Viagra? C’mon now.

Hell, bifocals are not natural. Neither is air conditioning, or Beyond Burger.

Do you know what’s natural though? Dysentery. Scurvy. Sudden infant death syndrome. Forest fires.

Natural doesn’t always mean great.

So — cisgender Karen can get a boob job, labioplasty or Botox treatments, right? And cisgender Kevin can get a hair transplant, and pec implants, he can pump hella steroids for howmuchyoubench dudebro vibes, but God forbid (or, to be more accurate, DeSantis forbid) I do anything to assert MY gender.

And let’s consider for a second that if I DON’T do all the things to meet cisnormative standards of girlness, you’ll vilify me, drag me out of bathrooms, kick my ass and spit on me. Call me a “man.” Tell me I’ll never be a woman.

So I guess I shouldn’t have transitioned then, huh? Shouldn’t have offended your bigoted god. Should’ve stayed a “man.”
