TSA: Transgender Sexual Assault

The dehumanizing, invasive practices transgender women experience at the hands of TSA agents

I don’t usually cry at airports. Also, as a trans activist, I’m very familiar with the inhumanity of TSA staff. But I’m crying today.

I did as I was told. I got all my stuff into bins, shoes off. I walked through the scanner.

The woman said there was a “groin alert” (ugly term!). I answered, “yes, I’m transgender.”
