The biggest change in my life happened when I figured out that being happy is mostly about doing good stuff every day.
Here are nine things I did to sort myself out:
1. Guard Your Time
Don’t waste time on people or stuff that doesn’t matter. Especially stay away from folks who suck all your energy. If something doesn’t excite you, just say no.
2. Get Hooked on Learning
Spend some time each day reading before bed. It was tough to keep it up at first, but the more I did it, the better I felt. Think of it like eating healthy for your brain.
3. Hang Out in Nature
Spending just a couple of hours a week outside does wonders for your health and mood. Whenever I felt down, going for a walk outside always cheered me up.
4. Start Your Day Right
You don’t need a fancy morning routine. Just start your day without checking your phone, do something small to feel good, and maybe jot down your thoughts. It sets you up for a good day, like stretching before a run.
