I don’t know if you’ll ever fall in love

What I really mean is I’m not sure anyone
will fall in love with you. No matter how still you stand
amongst swirling desire, love will not land on your shoulder –
its bright wings fluttering near your ear.

It isn’t that you don’t try.

It isn’t that you don’t keep passion on your fingertips to lure
what you desire.

It’s that the frequency of your yen for love is so high, the hum
so electric.

Stun isn’t quite the right word.

You stupefy their senses.
