The Lady of Liberty Revives

The luminous girl in yellow

leads the way

out of the never-ending shade.

Her words soothe

the shattered souls of the nation.

Her audience, more than a billion,

hurtles her to the pinnacle of literary acclaim.

Miles away, the Lady of Liberty,

ignited to life once

by her poet, Emma Lazarus,

revives with Amanda Gorman’s

poetry and performance.

The Lady of Liberty’s torch

blazes fiercer than it has these past four years,

purifying our land,

beckoning those in despair,

letting us shine again.
