For the second time in the last two months, Medios Radiofónicos de Michoacán has turned in social station concessions it has. This time, however, it’s shut down two operating radio stations: XHPAT-FM 106.5 in Pátzcuaro and XHCHM-FM 97.7 in Ciudad Hidalgo. The English classic hits station continues to operate on the remaining frequency, XHMOM-FM 99.1 in Morelia.

In identical letters (XHPAT, XHCHM) dated January 8 and uploaded to the RPC today (January 27), Flavio René Acevedo and Blanca Estela Castañeda Terán give much the same reasoning that appeared when the group decided to drop its television plans two months ago:

It is unknown when XHPAT and XHCHM ceased operations. The company’s commercial radio stations in Pátzcuaro (XHEXL) and Ciudad Hidalgo (XHESOL) remain in operation.
