As we’re breathing new life into Saent, hereby an overview of the most common questions asked through our social media (Twitter | Facebook) and email. We’ll keep updating this page as new inquiries come in.

1. How can I order a button?

We still have an inventory of about 2,000 buttons. But because of our cash flow problems and limited time we’ve not been able to keep up the required logistics (order processing, storage, shipping, etc.). So while those buttons do sit in a warehouse somewhere, we have no way of supporting the operations required to get them to you.

We will one day relaunch the button, but it’s impossible to say when this will be. If you’re interested in being notified when this happens, please send an email to support [at] saent [dot] com.

2. I ordered a button in 2017 but have never received it

First of all, we’re sorry. Our communication in the second half of 2017 has been inadequate. Several logistical processes broke down because of our cash flow issues. On top of that, we were struggling to keep our heads above water (both professionally and personally) and could not find the time to keep up with emails and communication.

If you haven’t received your order, please send a mail to support [at] saent [dot] com. Even if you did so before, please send another email. We’re now actively monitoring this mailbox again. Once we have your details, we will issue a refund within a few weeks.

3. Can I still download and use the Saent software?

You can still download the app from download.saent.com.

A word of warning: the Saent desktop software has not been updated for over six months. As such, you might experience some problems. We’re currently fixing these issues, and our goal is to keep the current version of the app stable (though we will not do any further improvements or feature additions for the foreseeable future).

4. What happened in 2017?

Last year (2017) was tough for Saent. As explained in this post, Saent went from a funded, full-time endeavor into something we are now do in our spare time.

We went into 2017 acting based on a best-case scenario. In reality, the worst-case scenario unfolded. We put a lot of faith in new distribution deals we signed and sank our last resources into producing a second batch of buttons (the first one sold out in November 2016).

Unfortunately, sales from those deals were disappointing, and our Saent.com webshop sales were insufficient to bring in enough revenue. So for most of 2017, we had an empty bank account, eventually forcing us to discontinue nearly all software development.

5. What are your plans for 2018?

Some folks from the original team, as well as several new enthusiasts from the Saent user community, are working on a revival. We’re also searching for a technical co-founder to join the team and drive the development of a new product.

The second coming of Saent will roughly consist of the following elements:

  1. Content: we’ll start producing regular content again (though less frequently than before).
  2. Clean up: we’ll refresh and update our online presence in the coming weeks and months.
  3. New product: we’ve planned a new product for later this year…

For all of the above, just stay tuned here on Medium. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and subscribe to our newsletter.

6. Can I get involved?

We’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in helping Saent’s cause along. For the near future, this would be on a voluntary, part-time basis. But if you’re interested in self-improvement, productivity, and getting other people to live more fulfilling lives, you’ll love being involved.

At the moment we’re primarily looking for software developers and designers (for UI and marketing purposes). But don’t hesitate to reach out if you have different skills on offer. You can reach us on support [at] saent [dot] com or on Twitter @getsaent.

My question is not listed but I do have one!

If your question was not listed above, please send us an email on support [at] saent [dot] com or drop a Tweet on @getsaent.
