The Enact team has released Enact 4.0.0. A major upgrade Enact that has bumped up to the latest React 17 enables you to leverage the new features of React like new JSX Transform and changed Event Delegation. We also updated Enact Sampler to Storybook version 6.

Storybook6 Enact Sampler added in 4.0.0

Enact supports React hooks. kind can return a functional component suitable for use with React hooks by setting functional: true. Also, we’ve changed some of our HoCs to use hooks, for example, I18nDecorator, Skinnable, Toggleable, Touchable, and etc. We will keep working on providing useful hooks beyond this.

In addition to this, we have put a lot of bug fixes, improved a11y support, and stabilized UI components, etc.

Read the Enact 4.0.0 Release Notes for more information.

To help developers transition to Enact 4, we’ve created a migration guide. This guide spells out the changes needed to bring apps up-to-date with the latest Enact.

Enact team will continue to iterate on this Enact 4.0.0 while also planning ahead for what will be in Enact 5. If you have any questions about Enact, feel free to ask in our community.

Enact is fully open and your contribution is always welcomed. If you are interested in making Enact better, please read the contribution guide and make PR!
