You don’t need a diet, you need a lifestyle change!

We have all met people who claim to be obese but look like they’re in great shape. We have also met those who need to think this way but don’t. Well I have always been in the previous state of mind, thinking I was completely unfit while others continuously told me I looked great. Well, the reason behind this mental and physical disconnect is the way that we feel on the inside. All the detox teas, weight loss and weight gain supplements, and other therapeutic regimens circulating around us serve as proof of our internal dissatisfaction.

These things are usually associated with what most call a lifestyle change. Our lifestyle consists of several factors that make us who we are. The food we eat, the amount of physical activity we get, our attitudes and reactions in certain situations, and what we do as recreation all make up our lifestyle. If our normal way of doing these things still leave us feeling unsatisfied or bad about ourselves, it’s time for a lifestyle change. Mind, Body, and Spirit is the ultimate formula for true happiness and satisfaction in our lives. These things are the gist of why our lifestyles are what they are.

Your mind is an easy target when things don’t go the way we feel they should. All of the emotions we feel stem from our mental state. All of the anxiety, hurt, concern, contentment, joy, etc., comes from our minds. We formulate these mental states and run back into them time and time again. Now if we are overall dissatisfied, our minds will let us know first. Once we get that signal, it may be time for a lifestyle change.

As is human nature, we put great emphasis on our outer image. We look at ourselves every day and I guarantee we will find at least one thing we are not content with each time. Some of those things include our weight, body proportion, facial features, etc. This may be one of the easier sectors to correct or modify in order to make us feel better about ourselves. I personally think that it is easier to alleviate bodily concerns than mental issues. How simple is it to go the gym more often, eat healthier foods, and keep up with the routine?

The final aspect concerning our lifestyles is the spirit. If we aren’t in good spirits we will most likely not be able to carry out everyday functions. We won’t work well with others if we are the type of person that is always “down in the dumps”. In order to correct that we seek help from those who have professional training on the human. These people fall under the categories of doctors, counselors, and sometimes mediums. We spend tons of money on services from these people in hopes that they will be able to alleviate the situation because we know that we are not our best selves when our spirits are down.

When these things, among others of course, are off track in our lives, it may be time for more than just a diet or doctor visit. This calls for a full-on lifestyle change.
