As part of our sixth university blockchain hackathon, we are delighted to announce Polygon as a Bronze sponsor!

For those that don’t know, Hack Africa is an 8-week blockchain hackathon run by Encode Club in partnership with Web3Bridge, aimed at university students and hackers.

When is it?

Starting on Tuesday 15th June, Hack Africa will last 8 weeks — 4 weeks for learning, and 4 weeks for hacking.

You can register for the hackathon here! Registration is open until Monday 19th July.

About Polygon

Polygon is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building and connecting Secured Chains like Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, Validium etc and Standalone Chains like Matic POS, designed for flexibility and independence. Polygon’s scalability solutions have seen widespread adoption with 200+ Dapps, ~10M txns and ~230K unique users.

If you’re an Ethereum Developer, you’re already a Polygon developer! Leverage Polygon’s fast and secure txns for your Dapp, get started here.

How Hack Africa works:

Teams of 1–6 can either;

  • work on their own idea or startup; or
  • answer a technical challenge from our sponsors.

There is an overall top prize pool of $5k from Encode, as well as prizes per sponsor.
