- Global energy consumption — used in cooking, heating, transportation and other industrial activities — has always been steadily increasing.
- North America and Europe have very high per capita consumption above global average (although decreasing recently), while the other continents are below global average.
- Interestingly, Asia crossed South America in recent years and catching up to global average.
