NEFCO is a successful small business that needed a more efficient, effective web accessible method to organize data and implement workflows for its business processes.

We needed to understand the nuances of NEFCO’s business. That started with an investigation into the process NEFCO employees undertake when they are at the scene of a fire. The various forms they would need to fill out and evidence collected at the scene. This also included the fine points of managing personnel, data, and reports. Once we understood and mapped out these processes, every component of the business and it’s workflows had to be transformed into a user-friendly, web-based application. That application had to accommodate the distinct tasks assigned to each investigator and integrate them into a collaborative whole.

Endertech relied on AJAX technology to create a user-friendly UI that allows users to manage investigation data on a single dashboard. Javascript-based components were incorporated to shorten the upload time for gigabytes of evidentiary information, while a QBXML API was used to sync accounting data with Quickbooks. A complementary custom-built scheduling calendar and time tracking application let NEFCO better manage human resources. To complete the improvements, we built custom tracking systems that report on the results of investigations and the performance of the investigation crew.

Because of this software, redundant effort was eliminated by letting clients use an online system to submit investigation cases to NEFCO. Productivity rose once managers had a labor-saving dashboard for case management. Manpower can be scheduled more quickly and accurately. Employee performance can be monitored online. Delays are reduced because investigators can access the web-app from remote locations and upload gigabytes of evidentiary data within minutes. This is a fine example of what custom software can do for your business.
