It’s been some time.

I’ve dreamt of some odd things since then but, with the state of reality, it’s hard to discern which is the unnaturally vivid and which is unreal. It’s easier to treat both the same- as not quite, as the translation of signals from a near-perfect source.

But there’s delay. From the reception of the signal to its decoding to a glance in the mirror which can happen only less-than-instantaneously, we are receivers on a cosmological scale- consuming fuel so that we might not lose our connection. But we are small, and not so powerful, and prone to decay. So many self-aware antennas trapped moments behind the truth of the reality they receive.

And we are forlorn.
