Michi Hoyer sidelined by COVID-19

Burst Esport racer Michi Hoyer was due to take part in the GPVWC season opener tonight, however, the Willstätt-based driver has announced via Twitter that he has had to withdraw, due to testing positive with COVID-19.

Due to COVID infection I am not going to start in the @GPVWC season opener tonight.

Currenty body conditions just will not allow it. I am trying to recover fast for saturdays 1000 Miles of Sebring in @rf2VEC and the Malaysian Grand Prix @FSR_esports on sunday@EsportBurst pic.twitter.com/1l6f2btMK4

I can speak from experience when I say that being ill with COVID is no laughing matter. It affects different people in different ways of course, but on the whole, it can leave you feeling very weak.

Hoyer knows how to win at the wheel of numerous types of sim racing machinery, having had success at the Virtual Endurance Championship in 2020, as well as the rFactor 2 GT Challenge championship.

He was a finalist in both World’s Fastest Gamer competitions and is a name we’ve spoken about in our own commentary box, representing Burst Esport SimPlexity in the DPi class in the Endurance eRacing World Championship.
