Have you ever contemplated the reasons for which you eat? Is it for survival? Is it for pleasure? Is it to achieve a certain look? Is it to fill up an emotional void? Or is it just plan routine? No matter the reason, you can always choose to look at your food from a life-generating perspective, which will in turn, bring you the gift of wholeness, health and delight.

All relationship is for the purpose of delight and self-discovery, and this includes our relationship with food. When we eat, we are interacting with life, with nature and with ourselves. And when we truly realize this, we will WANT to reach for those foods that express the vastness, aliveness, diversity, richness and beauty of life.

When we understand that food is just a diverse expression of who we are, we can enter into a relationship of appreciation, resonance and mutuality if we chose so. And when we make the seeming mundane act of eating into a sacred ritual, we will be able to express and experience ourselves more deeply.

How can we do this? Well, it is REALLY simple…you can start appreciating each bite of food you take in. Gratitude and appreciation enhance the frequency of your food, which is turn helps you have a healthier body.

When we feel guilt, shame, remorse or anger when we eat, this will literally affect our weight and our digestive processes. And this will also disconnect us from that delightful relationship to life. Food is here for the purpose of delight, and if you are always worried about it making you fat or sick, this will ALWAYS happen.

Does this mean that eating “junk food” is delightful? Well, this is a very personal question. If you are doing it to fill up an emotional void, it will never be delightful. If you do it after years and years of deprival and as a means of self-love and freedom it might.

But as you open up to who you really are, you will realize that the most self-loving thing is choosing the most pristine, natural, living and whole foods without effort. Not because you HAVE to, but because you WANT to.

Bottom line is that you can CHOOSE to create a beautiful relationship with your food. You can choose to create a sacred communion with All life through your appreciation and gratitude towards food. Let go of the guilt and shame. Focus on cultivating a higher perspective, and you´ll see that the foods that you reach for will naturally change.
