The energy industry is a big and growing industry that contains all of the industries involved in the production and sale of energy. Firstly, there are generators who produce energy through generation transporting gas. After that, the network transports the energy to your homes, and this has several stages. In the end, the final stage of this process is retail, that is, selling energy to consumers.
The electricity for example, is generated at large power stations that are linked to the national networks. Electricity can also be generated in smaller power stations that are linked to the regional networks. There are two types of electricity network — transmission and distribution. Transmission network is used for electricity supply around the country. Distribution network is used for electricity supply system into homes or businesses.
As we already know, suppliers can buy energy from the energy market and they can sell it to the consumers. Suppliers work in the energy market and consumers are able to choose which supplier will provide them with energy.
