From idea to realization: Interview with Blagoja Petrushev, Co-Founder of Energy Premier

I have talked to Mr. Blagoja Petrusev, Co-Founder of Energy Premier. Mr. Petrushev is a futurist entrepreneur who believes that technology is the best way to make the economy more transparent and the companies from all over the world more efficient.

He is an experienced senior manager of digital business and IT projects. He headed an electricity retailing company and gained extensive experience in electricity retail and distribution. Mr. Petrushev is a Co-Founder of Inspiron Solutions, an IT development company with big experience in creating energy software solutions.

He created the Energy Premier project from the start, when the idea was in his head and when he had to transfer that idea to the whole development team to get into a serious platform for retail electricity trade.

For a hundred hours of talking with Luka Prelevic about the expansion of the project, and with Viktor Delov about trading models, it resulted that after 18 months of hard work of the development team, Energy Premier could come out on the market.

What is the story behind Energy Premier?

The idea of Energy Premier came out as a result of the real situation with liberalized electricity market with large number of suppliers in most countries, and in such situation, these suppliers cannot reach to all consumers, nor the consumers can get bids from all suppliers. For that reason, we wanted to make a specialized energy platform that will sell only energy and will guarantee that the consumers will get the best possible price at the moment of purchasing electricity. In the whole concept, the blockchain technology provides us with better control, higher speed, security, lower costs, and fast payments.

Do you think that Energy Premier will replace the electricity supply companies?

No, I don’t think so, that is not our idea. There are projects with such goal and they have already finished their ICO, but we don’t want that. We want to be a partner to both suppliers and consumers. Through Energy Premier, suppliers can carry out their operational activities with the help of our already developed modules. It is not necessary for them to have employees in the trading companies with work license in each state. Today, most of the companies have firms only for transit, and we want to offer them a complete service to make them more efficient.

Do you really think that a company located in Germany will be able to operate a retail business across Energy Premier in Slovenia for example, without having any employees in a company in Slovenia?

Yes, absolutely. Using the Energy Premier platform, the company in Germany will only make strategic decisions, such as what their budget is, when and where to buy energy, and to which type of consumers to sell energy, etc.. Everything else will take place on the platform. We have the Automatic Bidder module that closes offers by its own to the limits defined by the supplier.

What do you think is the biggest benefit of Energy Premier?

The benefits are in different directions. For consumers, Energy Premier is an electricity supply solution, and our platform gives the consumers the most professional and transparent way of supplying electricity. They can be sure that they will always get the best possible price. On the other side, there are numerous benefits for suppliers. The main benefits for them are that they can reach a large number of clients, can precisely define the target of consumers they need, and can lower the administrative costs. What our development team is doing now is the solution for electricity producers that sell their products through Energy Premier. We are also making integration of Energy Premier with smart meters, and that is how the suppliers will not even need physical activities for making consumption records. And to not forget the most important benefit, which is the elimination of corruption as a key factor in this branch.

What do you think, how will your token value grow?

The global electricity market is a huge market, in trillion dollars. We expect that in the Crowdsale, our tokens will be purchased to a large extent by certain funds, private investors, individual investors, and a small number of individuals who have their own companies and will use our tokens for electricity supply. We expect that the true use of tokens will be when the Crowdsale ends. Then, we expect the token value to grow rapidly because the real users, which are thousands of electricity suppliers and millions of companies, will start purchasing tokens and use them on the platform. It is certain that we already have some contracts that will reflect the entire market.

How can the EPC tokens be used?

The EPC can be treated as an investment, but we see its use in multiple options for application:

  • Payment with EPC token of all services on our platform with 30% discount.
  • Payment with EPC token of trading fee on our platform is $ 0.007/Mwh, and if you pay with the Fiat currency is $ 0.1/Mwh.
  • Smart grid producers can sell their electricity for EPC tokens via our platform.
  • Using EPC token to charge electricity on the platform. The providers will give their consent to accept EPC tokens. We already had a contract with the company that agrees to accept the EPC token as a means of payment but we will post it after the end of the crowdsale.
  • The EPC token will be associated with a special smart contract that will serve to confirm the contract between the supplier and the consumer.
  • Token used to pay for Energy Premier services accepted at minimum 0.0003$ price equivalent.
  • 8% from our tokens are reserved for platform users and all our users who sell or buy electricity across Energy Premier will get 1EPC for 1Mwh trading.

There will be more innovations as a part of our strategy.

Do you think that you have a good team for the Energy Premier to be a successful project?

Of course I think that, we really paid attention that all of our people are included in the project and that we will not have just a formal people in our White Paper. We have many people that help a lot to the project, but we cannot put all of them in the White Paper. The only thing I can promise you is that our strategy is not to pay thousands of dollars only to have popular names in our board who only sell their biography and not their commitment. We believe that the team commitment is necessary for a successful project. You can see by yourself that we have a team with impressive biographies and education, but the key in this project is their commitment.

What are the strongest sides of Energy Premier?

Energy Premier is a real project with great applicability. We have been working for 2 years on this project and we have learned, improved and changed a lot of things. We are not simply saying: “Let’s try an ICO”, but we exactly know what we want and how to get that. We are devoted, we know this job and believe in it.

Why did you decide to reinvest 37% of the company’s profit in renewable energy sources?

We really want to give something back to the community in the best possible way. That’s why we announced that 37% of the company’s profit will be invested in renewable energy sources that will sell the produced energy through Energy Premier in the future. We believe that the alternative energy will be a priority in the following two decades.
