The memes you come across instantly change your mood and provide you with content that gratifies you and makes you happy. The communities you come across are all over social media and consists of welcoming places where you can share your positive thoughts with other people. You also begin to get involved with forums and pages where you can share your thoughts and ideas with others which gives you a sense of purpose and an outlet for your emotions. What is a wholesome meme you may wonder? Well according to Reddit, it is a meme that does not include sarcasm and is overall uplifting and promotes well-being of your Body, mind, and soul.
The size of this online community is big. There are a lot of websites and forums for this community. This community is more a digital interest and consists more of social media. Wholesome memes are on Facebook, Instagram, reddit, Pinterest, YouTube, Bing images and meme pages. My community does not have a tie to a specific place. This community is most active on reddit and social media. I would describe this community as decentralized because it gathers in a lot of places.
I checked out the Pinterest page and saw a bunch of memes posted by many people. I would say this community is least active on .Gov pages and Wikipedia because it is insanely active on social media to the point where you can scroll for hours.
On the wholesome meme forum on reddit you can choose to join the page. It said as a rule that you cannot post coronavirus memes. Another rule that is kind of funny, is to be nice to turtles which does not have anything to do with memes. Another rule is not to post controversial items and not to harass others or bring up religion. On the reddit site called “Wholesome memes Internet For the Spirit” there are 8.9 million members. There is a casual conversation page on the reddit website which you can join and has links that have to do with suicide resources and numbers to call. So, one would say that maybe a person would join the wholesome meme forum on Reddit or twitter if they have depression and want to be instantly gratified with an uplifting meme and get to comment on the forum and interact with other people, by leaving positive messages.
So, on the Reddit forum they say to check out their twitter. So naturally I clicked on the twitter link. I started reading the memes and was immediately uplifted, so I can see why someone would join these websites. The Wholesome memes twitter account has 12.6 K followers, and the followers can click on the link in the bio which takes you to the Reddit wholesome page.
Great, now you have a sense of community. You have multiple resources at your fingertips to interact with multiple people. you will never feel lonely with knowing you now have a place to go to watch, share, comment and repost relatable memes that are essentially life changing for you.
