Okay, granted, not so much to look at from the outside.

But 2 things:

1. We didn’t need much, my brother and I.

2. It looks a whole lot better inside. (You’ll see.)

We decided on renting a place in Mérida soon after our arrival.

For 2 reasons (naturally):

1. It looked like we would stay longer than our original 3–6 month plan.

2. Renting a 3-bedroom house cost the same as our 1 room apartment.

Around $800/mo.

Besides, it had a really cool name.

Our friend Alex helped find the place, just like House Hunters Int’l.

Except, he wasn’t a professional Real Estate agent.
