Woman’s hands cupped behind her baby’s feet, which face us with a tiny yellow flour tucked between the big toe and second toe on the foot facing us, left side. out of focus see babies hands a a white knit sweater behind the mother’s hands.
The soul is touched by the sole of a baby’s foot. The flower is yellow with joy! Photo by Manuel Schinner on Unsplash

Your hands cup two perfect little feet, and you reach over to the bouquet, breaking off one tiny yellow flower. It’s tucked between those little toes and Grandpa snaps a picture. You have become the mother of a baby boy, on Valentine’s Day. His name is Harrison.

You already have a beautiful toddler, James, and soon you will take home – the best Valentine of your life.

That’s what you’re going to write in his baby book… not a word about the sheer exhaustion you still feel after giving birth. It still feels like a miracle you have to sweat and work for. It’s good that you’re both doing well. One set of worries you can ditch…

Thinking about Jay with your aunt Daphne, it feels strange being away from him, and you were too busy to spare him a breath yesterday.

It’s just sinking in!

There was no real way to know what being the mother of two little boys feels like, until now.

It’s happening!

My dear niece, had Harrison in the Year of the Wood Dragon!
