About Me

Hello. My name is Vivek. I am an undergraduate of Engineering at the University of Cambridge.
Mathematics and physics have always been my forte and I have always enjoyed working through hard problems. From working through a Electromagnetism problem from Jackson or struggling through an apparently simple question from Landau, I love a good challenge. My interest in mathematics really developed first when I encountered calculus at 10 years old. The simple idea of the limit and how powerful it is in computing such complicated derivatives and functions fascinated me. However, recently I have also been introduced to Quantitative Finance and Programming, both of which is deeply interesting to me.
Quantitative Finance is something I find intriguing because of how we are able to find order and patterns in the chaotic nature of finance. Even tho stock prices are affected by the decisions of the millions of investors worldwide whether to long or short, we are still able to write a few lines of code that can predict what the price is going to be the next minute (albeit with far less than perfect accuracy), or build complex statistical and stochastic models that allow us to accurately price derivatives.
Programming is something I was always very interested in but kept putting off for another time. As soon as I started my programming journey with Python, I have been encapsulated by its initial charm and high level code. I have yet to learn high speed and low level languages such C++ or Java, but I intend to do so in the near future.
