We are excited to be going to HBaseCon 2015. Last year we had the opportunity to present “From MongoDB to HBase in Six Easy Months.” We talked about Optimizely’s architectural journey from MongoDB to HBase, including the performance, design flexibility, speed of implementation, and other gains made. This video of our talk also covers the operational setup needed to monitor and maintain the system as well as lessons learned from the migration process itself.

Since we gave this talk, we have scaled our capacity more than 2x (and we have the scars to prove it). If you see us at HBaseCon this year, we are happy to share our experiences.
