Gossip’s structure consists of the conversation of the tree main characters, with the only change in that being either the intro and outro voice (Rockin’ Robin) or when the characters tell a story revolving around the titular gossip. Then the gossip story is played out by the character involved.

Very obviously the voices that push the plot are essential, but the sound effects and noises add ambiance and realism to the situation that really draw you in and assist your mind’s eye in creating an image to the audio you hear.

The smashing of plates to let you know just how angry the wife is that her husband voted for trump. Or the indistinct voices as the story is told to instill that these women are talking in a busy café. Even the transition noise is important in just a story structure element to let you know that a change is coming.
