Where has the time gone?

I entered this course with previous experience from another Environmental Humanities course that I look a few semesters ago, but I was excited to delve in to deeper conversations with the knowledge that I brought with me.

As it turns out, this semester I was able to learn a variety of subjects in addition to physically going out into the environment and seeing for myself its beauty and importance. As a class, we toured the botanical gardens, volunteered locally, and have learned about creatures that are close to home. We have had engaging discussions about our footprint, about ways we can be proactive, and about alternatives to learning, like video games.

With less than a week left of my final semester here at the University of Delaware, I am so very thankful that I decided to take this course and challenge myself in ways that I never thought possible. I was forced to step out of my comfort zone, face my problematic actions head on, and come up with alternatives to my practices. This class was a prominent stepping stone for my future actions towards the environment, which in itself is a pretty big deal.

Of course I’m upset about this chapter coming to a close, but I’m even more excited to delve into the next one! With the knowledge and experiences this class has provided me with, I look forward to continue being environmentally conscious, sustainable, and using what I know to work towards contributing to a cleaner, better, earth.

My undergraduate chapter may be coming to a close, but I’m forever grateful of the experiences that I have in my arsenal — especially this class.

Thank you for a great semester, everyone!
