Veganism is related to the environment in so many ways. Animals are of course part of the environment, and factory farming mistreats and kills animals. Less noticeable impacts on the environment from factory farming include deforestation, misuse of natural resources, overuse of nonrenewable resources, pollution from transportation, and contributions to methane in the atmosphere.

The symbol that is above serves as an environmental icon (econ) for the vegan movement. The symbol is clear and simple. It appears to be in the shape of a green plant, but it is also clearly a “V”. Clever yet simplistic, viewers can definitely understand how this symbol is related to this environmental topic.

The purpose of the symbol is not overshadowed by anything fancy and it is undoubtedly uncomplicated. Nothing is there to distract from its meaning, which alerts viewers immediately to the purpose.
