The Joy of Hammocks

I love hammocks. I don’t want there to be any misconceptions about where this stems from — I’m not advertising any specific ones, no one’s paying me to say this. I genuinely believe hammocks are the best way to go about exploring nature and taking in the natural world.

I was skeptical at first, what with my preconceived notion of how complicated hammocks must be. I assumed they’d be a multi-step hassle that, by the time they were put up, would immediately fall down and not be worth the effort. Oh, how wrong I was.

Hammocks — or at least the one I have — are extremely easy to manage and hang. All I needed to do was tie two ropes around nearby trees, latch the ropes onto the hammock proper, and sit. The genuine simplicity of the process made me more confused than if it had been complex.

So I encourage everyone to get yourself a hammock. It’s worth the investment, and taking a walk in the park will never be the same again.
