I found that throughout this reading I became increasingly aware of humans’ tendency to hyper-focus on one thing for extremely long periods of time, causing a momentary loss of your grasp on reality. Although it is important, and often necessary, to think about a certain event in order to fully process it, the thought of it shouldn’t consume you. When thinking back, we are often overcome with the question of how the outcome of an event could have been different. This leads to an endless cycle of over analyzing everything that happened and thinking about how a change in what happened would be affecting you now, ultimately causing you to lose sight of things happening currently.
