Eniac invests in Visual Vocal, to scale the immersive collaboration platform to the enterprise
By Tim Young, Founding General Partner, Eniac Ventures
Today, we are excited to announce that Eniac Ventures has led a $3.6 million seed stage fund for Visual Vocal, a leading AR/VR productivity platform for team collaboration. The fund aims to scale the company by driving continued product innovation, growing the enterprise customer base and attracting top talent.
The continued advancements in AR and VR are rapidly changing the way we approach the world. We believe that AR will revolutionize how we interface with computing resources. As demonstrated by the buzz of this week’s Oculus Connect in San Jose, there is mounting excitement and a bright future for the crops of new companies paving the way for immersive games and sports experiences. The Eniac Team also believes that VR, AR, and AI technologies will push the boundaries on how businesses operate, collaborate and go to market in the next five to 10 years. We look to work with founders and companies, such as Visual Vocal, that are leading this charge.
Visual Vocal turns VR into business productivity
Visual Vocal is solving complex challenges across all verticals, from construction and architecture to manufacturing. Their platform alleviates the massive pain points that come with collaboration and communication challenges faced by dispersed teams on large-scale projects. V|V can power VR meetings, capture detailed annotations in VR, and also introduces a new type of VR inbox for asynchronous messaging and communication. Think what Google docs is to PDF, but mixed reality.
See what Visual Vocal can do for your business.
Meet the Founders
Visual Vocal was founded by John SanGiovanni, Co-founder & CEO and Sean B House, Co-founder. Both are tech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs with more than two decades of experience.
John is a passionate entrepreneur, strategist, and inventor. He has served as a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft Research, where he led external academic research funding in the areas of mobile technology and augmented reality. He has authored more than 20 patents in the areas of mobile UI, wearable hardware systems, and augmented reality, many of which have subsequently been licensed or purchased by Apple, Microsoft, and others.
“VR is just the beginning,” according to CEO John SanGiovanni, who did extensive work with AR while at Microsoft. “Augmented Reality is just around the corner, and those companies with broad industry usage in the immersive productivity category will be in a highly leveraged position once AR becomes broadly available.”
Sean B House, Cofounder & CTO
Sean has worked across the architecture and development of varied technologies, including computer networks, databases, cloud systems, APIs/SDKs and mobile applications, and has been awarded more than half a dozen patents. Sean has spent the past decade in hands-on cloud and mobile development across iOS, Android, and other mobile platforms resulting in more than 50 published mobile applications for top-tier brands such as NBC, Pepsi, REI, and Xbox.
“Thanks to an advanced cloud-based infrastructure, our technology can power all stages of communication: design-phase renderings of build options, construction focused job site communication, and post-occupancy facilities documentation,” said Sean B House, Co-founder & CTO, Visual Vocal. “This platform-based approach offers the flexibility to power applications for any industry that lives and breathes 3D data.”
