At Enjin, we love open-source.

We don’t try to hide that fact. After all, our powerful suite of SDKs and APIs for the gaming industry will be completely open-source.

That’s why we’re overjoyed to announce that an Enjin module will be available for Godot — an open-source, feature packed, multi-platform 2D and 3D game engine that is built from the ground up to provide an open gaming option of a quality to rival or surpass proprietary solutions.

Founded in 2007 by Ariel Manzur and Juan Linietsky, Godot has come a long way and has been used by over 160,000 game developers across the world.

Check out this nifty visualisation of the engine’s growth.

“We’re currently in the middle of releasing Godot 3.0, and it comes with some huge changes. It has a new 3D renderer, AR/VR support, new physics engine, C#/Mono support, Visual Scripting, the GD Native module. We’re currently at Alpha, and already seeing huge support from our users, they love it — and tons of new people want to try it.”

“To me the most exciting aspect of Enjin Coin in Godot is its potential. It’s a completely new technology, and I can’t wait to see what game developers do with it. Blockchain has been around for a while, and the idea of merging it with gaming was always an interesting one — I’m happy to see it’s starting to happen.”

— Ariel Manzur, Godot Co-Founder

We’ll be working together with Godot developers to build and integrate the official Enjin Coin cryptocurrency module for their game engine.

“Godot is an incredible game engine and the Enjin Coin integration will open up true gameplay innovation. We look forward to supporting game developers using Enjin Coin based virtual goods in Godot powered games.”

— Maxim Blagov, Enjin CEO

Game developers building games with Godot will be able to utilize the closely integrated Enjin module to easily add blockchain features to their game. Intuitive visual editors will also be developed to let game developers create and manage their game asset libraries and their trading parameters, reserve value, fees, and behavior in the game.
