Among the Thinkers 50
Just a quick word to say that yesterday I was notified that I had been nominated for this year’s biannual Thinkers 50, a global ranking described by the FT as “the Oscars of management thinking.”
I am one of eight candidates in the Digital Thinking Award, along with people who in some cases I not only know and admire, but who I referred to and quoted in my doctoral thesis. Reading through the list of nominees in this and other catagories — or winners from previous years — while thinking that my name is among them is still hard to believe: when all is said and done, all I have ever done is to look for a methodology that allows me to keep up to date with what is going on in my field and to prepare my classes and presentations. As I noted only last week:
the idea is not just to teach not just with what is already known, but with what we don’t know.
