For somebody who teaches about innovation, the moments leading up to a product launch are extremely interesting, revealing speculation of all kinds, analysts letting their imaginations run wild based on the scarce information available, and all kinds of conjecture.

In the case of Apple, there is no doubt that this is a process that the company handles better than anyone else. From the moment the rumors start until the announcement of the product launch, it is a frantic period in which the company manages to capitalize on media attention, with everybody desperate for more information so they can speculate and imagine more things.

The company is now in the run up to one of its most risky launches, one that has generated a lot of doubt internally, while filing patents worldwide for several names related to the word reality: Reality One, Reality Pro and Reality Processor. That’s pretty much all we know, the rest is speculation: it could be a surrogate screen on which to run all kinds of productivity applications, which would hypothetically free users from sitting in front of a computer and enable them to carry out a large number of tasks on some kind of touchpad, or instead it could be for sports or communication, bringing it closer to the concept of interaction, or even…
