Why I have taken the decision to make my life as carbon-free as possible

Today’s article will be the first of a series in which I will describe in some detail the changes I began adopting a few months ago, my reasons for doing so and above all, given the apparent uncertainties that I detect in the comments and in general when talking about the subject, the results.

My wife and I made a simple decision: to continue the most radical decarbonization possible we started when, three years ago, we decided to buy an electric car. To do this, we decided to make several relatively large investments: on the one hand, installing a heat pump to replace our gas boiler, so we stopped consuming this fossil fuel and became completely electric. We then installed solar panels, and finally, a a hybrid inverter and a battery.

To start at the end with a quick summary: during May and so far in June, our energy self-sufficiency is around 99%.
