The following are excerpts from the first episode of our new “EnRusk Podcast”. To listen to the full episode you can find it at https://www.buzzsprout.com/1766529

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of telling you about EnRusk’s partnership with ECIS. An exciting announcement that brings with it a number of interesting things. Chiefly among them is the creation of an Advisory Brochure of services that EnRusk & ECIS can provide. In an effort to understand both the brochure and the partnership as a whole, we spoke to EnRusk CEO Dr. Kynan Robinson.

As Kynan put it: “[the Brochure] involves a number of services that we, in consultation with ECIS, feel are of immense value to their schools. The big goal with all the work we do at EnRusk is about innovation and change. helping schools progress and continually move forward. Not change for the sake of change, but because it’s a necessary part of changing educational life.”

The Educational Collaborative for International Schools, or ECIS, is an organization centered around helping schools. When asked why EnRusk decided to partner with them Kynan said:

“As an organization, we won’t partner with just anyone. We have to partner with people whose values are really similar to ours. I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know ECIS and Kam”. Kam Chohan is the Executive Director at ECIS.

“Through conversation after conversation, it became really clear we both believe the same things. Kam’s a visionary. She’s very passionate and believes in educational reform and change. But she also believes in a student-first / student-centered approach. Which is really important to us.”

“How might we change the way we do education to listen to the students?”

During the height of the Covid19 Crisis, EnRusk has worked with a number of schools helping them tackle complex problems and ultimately address the current times. EnRusk has its own unique style of working with schools and other organizations, and we asked Kynan to talk a little more about that:

“We don’t ever go into a school and tell. We don’t just come in, do the data gathering and then tell them what’s wrong. We want to work closely with the school. teaching them how to do the processes so they can be sustainable for the long term.”

“We really believe in partnering with a school. Most consultancy companies will come in and do the work for you.

“We’ll come in and help you do the work yourselves… So we’ll guide you through but this way the process and the problems that you find are your own… And this means the solutions that you get to are also your own. Which means that generally the work gets done.”

The Covid19 Crisis isn’t the only major change facing schools at the moment. Last year saw a major call for organizations and schools to tackle diversity and to ask themselves what it means to be “a diverse school.”

“Essentially it’s important to tackle identity. Identity is knowing who you are and what you believe in. That’s some of the work we do around values. That’s knowing who you are. What you believe in: And how you are different or special.

“This helps you understand who you are in the context of where you are. So whether you’re a school in Argentina, France or a school in London, the environment helps you understand…

This way you’re not just an international School operating the same as every other international school.”

“Diversity in a school is hugely important.

“Diversity leads to innovation.

“Diversity in thinking leads to change.

It leads to the discovery of what might be possible. So if you limit diversity, you limit all those opportunities…”

Those were just a few excerpts from our interview with Kynan. For the full interview, check out the first episode of “The EnRusk Podcast” at the link above. We at EnRusk are very excited to explore the podcast space and further develop our EnRusk personality on this new medium. We’d love to hear your feedback though!
