Read What UBC Sauder Students Have Said About Ensightful

At Ensightful, we always look forward to hearing what students have to say about using our platform. Below is a summary of some feedback we have received from UBC Sauder students who have used our platform for a semester.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Students say that the platform helped their group improve communication throughout their project. Due to the nature of Ensightful and how it encourages students to delegate tasks, students find that they have an easier time dividing the work for fair distribution.

Additionally, students said they felt more accountable for tasks. With Ensightful, there was more transparency in terms of their workload since they had to follow a timeline which they were reminded of by the notifications. Some students liked that they were able to track their teammates’ tasks allowing them to have better coordination.

Design

Students said their first impression of the platform was amazing. We have heard from several of them that they loved the minimalistic and neat design. The simplicity of the platform made it user friendly, easy to figure out, and visually stunning which helped their efficiency when working on group projects.

Accessibility

We have heard from some students that they lacked some motivation to log on to the platform regularly. Students have gotten into the habit of using platforms that they are familiar with. These include their Learning Management System (Canvas, D2L, etc) and external messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger. We understand that adding another platform into the mix could add an extra unwanted step for students.

Due to this difficulty, we have been working on improving the accessibility of Ensightful as a platform. We have achieved a full LTI integration, which means that students will be able to access the platform through their LMS.

Mobile Accessibility

Finally, another student concern is that they spend a large chunk of their time on their smartphones. We have heard that they would be more inclined to use the platform more regularly if they could access it from a smartphone app.

To address this and accommodate students, we have been working hard and our platform is now updated to be compatible with mobile web browsers. We have taken this step to improve mobile accessibility and we are definitely foreseeing a future where Ensightful will be available as a smartphone app!
