Student Ambassadors’ First Impressions of Ensightful
This month, we welcomed eight student ambassadors to the team who used Ensightful for their sales and marketing projects. How did they feel about using the platform? Here are some of their first impressions.
Track Projects Easily
Maria liked being able to break down a project into tasks with separate deadlines. Having a visual map of the project helps her track how many tasks they’ve completed as a team. It also helps her see if the team is falling behind with some deadlines. This way, she can address potential problems long before the project deadline.
Store Shared Files in One Place
Maria also liked storing documents on Ensightful. Users can upload files or save links directly onto Ensightful to share them with the team. Accessing relevant files just a click away from project tasks created a smooth workflow for Maria. Because it’s especially useful when tracking several deliverables at once, Maria says that Ensightful makes working in teams easier and more enjoyable too.
Has an Attractive Interface
Farin was impressed by the simple aesthetics of the platform. Ensightful uses a minimalist design, with secondary colours that complement each other. Farin found that the simple and intuitive design made important information such as tasks stand out without the screen looking cluttered. Ensightful motivated her to stay organized with her team by using the platform.
Needs Option to Sync with Google/Digital Calendar
Ensightful was the first project management software that Dolly has used. Some students rely on Google Calendars to stay organized, and Dolly found this feature lacking on Ensightful. Syncing her Google Calendar with the platform would help her keep track of upcoming team deadlines and helps her set reminders to get tasks done.
The team at Ensightful is currently planning for integrations with apps in the future — including Google! We want to make Ensightful the central platform for students’ learning process. Integrations will help us achieve this goal!
Could Use More Notifications
Currently, students can opt-in to receive email notifications when new tasks are added or updated. Abhishek finds these useful, but it would be best to have alerts pop up directly on Ensightful too. This way, he can see updates from his team right away.
Built-in notifications are the Ensightful team’s next priority! These will alert students of team progress and task updates on the platform, helping them stay on top of project management.
Missing Automation
Dolly found it easy to use the platform too but felt that Ensightful was lacking the ability to automatically create tasks for students. She recommends that student dashboards are automatically filled with tasks for their group project, with the option for students to add their own subtasks. She feels this would prevent students from feeling overwhelmed with large projects on Ensightful.
The Ensightful team recently finished integrating the platform with learning management systems used by post-secondary schools like Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle or Desire2Learn (D2L)! These integrations help incorporate course content on Ensightful, making it more accessible and easier to use.
