Hello all,

Let me start with introduction about myself . Nah, I don’t think it is needed, just take six steps and you will know me. What I mean to say is to know each other we have to find the right or correct six people.Confused!!? This is what six degrees of separation says “the idea of all living things and everything else in the world are six or fewer steps away from each other so that a chain of ‘a friend of a friend’ statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six step.”

Let’s focus on use of the six degrees of separation for intelligence gathering and education, job search. If you’re trying to find a job or learn about a particular industry, the six degrees of separation can connect you to a great resource or potentially a mentor to help educate you. You can get a lot of information about how your dream path is or how the industry is to see if it’s something you really want to do. The role of internet and social networking is notable .Because of these, people directly connected through the social networks is high in number.

All the Small World Experiments conducted by Stanley Milgram in the 1960s and ‘70s done proved this theory to be true.A variety of games and website are also present around this theory. As no two individuals have the same opinion , there are some who debunks this theory and calls it a myth.

Ivan Misner ,Father of Modern Networking debunks the theory with the numbers that the completion rate of small world experiments is 29% and in some cases as low as 5% .

This 6 degrees of separation has now come down to 3.57

So,what do you think ?? is it a myth or science??
